Honest comparison

Fast WMS vs Unicommerce

Both are respected Indian software companies, but they solve different problems. Unicommerce is built to run e-commerce and omnichannel order management. Fast WMS is built to run the physical warehouse — pallets, bins, lots and barcode operations. This page lays out the difference plainly, so you can pick the one that fits your job.

The short answer

Unicommerce is a cloud platform whose strength is selling online — keeping orders, stock and returns in sync across marketplaces, your own store and other channels. If your main challenge is managing sales across many online channels, that is what it is built for.

Fast WMS is a warehouse management system whose strength is running the warehouse floor — goods-in against a purchase order, put-away to named bins, lot and pallet control, FIFO and FEFO picking, and GST-ready dispatch, for manufacturers, 3PLs and distributors. Many businesses actually use a channel platform for selling and a WMS for the warehouse behind it. The question is which problem is yours today.

When Fast WMS is the better fit

We win a clear, scoped slot: an Indian manufacturing, 3PL or distribution warehouse that wants deep floor control, on-site support and pricing that doesn't grow with every user.

1

Your problem is the warehouse, not the storefront

If finding a pallet, controlling lots and expiry, and getting a clean GRN matter more than syncing marketplace listings, a WMS is the right category — and Fast WMS is built for it.

2

You run manufacturing stores or a 3PL

Raw-material-to-finished-goods flow, material issue and kitting, or multi-client separation and storage billing are core to Fast WMS and outside an order platform's focus.

3

You want on-premise, or the choice of it

Keep your stock and customer data inside your own building, running even when the internet drops — or choose cloud. A software-as-a-service-only tool can't offer that.

4

You value Indian, on-site support

Fast WMS is built and supported by Improsys in Pune — real people on phone and WhatsApp, and on-site help when it matters.

5

You prefer a licence to a monthly rental

When Unicommerce may suit you better

If your main job is selling across marketplaces and your own online store, and keeping listings, orders and returns in sync across channels is your biggest headache, Unicommerce is built for exactly that. There is no shame in picking the tool that matches your problem — that is the whole point of this page.

Questions buyers ask us

What is the difference between Fast WMS and Unicommerce?
They solve different problems. Unicommerce is a cloud platform focused on e-commerce and omnichannel order management — it shines when you sell across marketplaces and your own store and need orders, inventory and returns synced across channels. Fast WMS is a warehouse management system focused on the physical warehouse — pallets, bins, lots, barcode goods-in, put-away, picking and dispatch — for manufacturers, 3PLs and distributors. If your problem is selling online across channels, look at Unicommerce. If your problem is running the warehouse floor, Fast WMS fits.
Is Fast WMS better than Unicommerce?
Neither is better in general — it depends on your warehouse. For an Indian manufacturing, 3PL or distribution warehouse that needs deep pallet and bin control, on-premise or cloud deployment, Tally-ready dispatch and a team that will visit your site, Fast WMS is the stronger fit. For a brand whose main job is selling across online marketplaces and channels, Unicommerce is built for that. Match the tool to the job.
Does Fast WMS work for e-commerce fulfilment?
Yes. Fast WMS has an e-commerce warehouse variant with fast pick-and-pack, picklist scanning, packing stations, returns and kitting. What it does not try to be is a channel and marketplace listing manager. Many businesses run a listing or order platform for channels and use Fast WMS to run the physical warehouse behind it.
Can Fast WMS run on my own server?
Yes. Fast WMS can run on-premise on your own IIS and SQL Server, so your stock and customer data stay inside your building and keep working even if the internet drops, or it can run in the cloud. Cloud platforms like Unicommerce are software-as-a-service only. If on-premise matters to you, that is a real difference.
How is pricing different?
Cloud order platforms typically charge a monthly subscription that scales with orders or users. Fast WMS is licensed as a branded copy for your company, so you are not tied to a per-user or per-order monthly bill. We share an indicative range once we understand your warehouse and confirm a final quote after a demo. See the pricing page.
What kind of support do I get with Fast WMS?
Fast WMS is built and supported by Improsys in Pune. You get real people on phone, email and WhatsApp, and on-site help within India where it is needed. That local, on-the-floor support is one of the main reasons manufacturers and 3PLs choose us.
