When a pick list is generated for any cold storage item, Fast WMS orders the lots by expiry date — the nearest-expiry lot appears at position 1. The picker is directed to that lot and bin. If they attempt to scan a later-expiry lot, the Fast WMS Android app rejects the scan. FEFO is enforced by the hardware, not by hope.
The Lot Expiry Dashboard shows every lot in the cold store categorised by how soon it expires. Supervisors click any time band and see the full list of lots, quantities, bin locations, production dates, and expiry dates. Automated alerts fire when lots enter the configured critical window. No lot goes unnoticed.
The Non-Moving Stock Report shows cold store items that haven't moved in a configurable number of days — by zone, by item, by bin. Slow-moving frozen stock is a double cost: storage charges continue, and shelf life is being consumed. Supervisors see it and can act before write-off.
Even if FEFO pick list enforcement fails — if a picker somehow gets the wrong lot to the dock — Fast WMS provides a second check at dispatch. When the dispatch barcode is scanned, the system checks the expiry date. If the lot is expired, the scan is rejected and the item cannot be loaded.
